International impact book award winning author, Timena Rhodes-Scott, was born in the Torres Strait. She is of European and Kuku Yalanji cultural heritage from Eastern Cape York. The author has taught early childhood, primary, secondary, and tertiary education in various countries around the world, in the Torres Strait and her hometown, Cairns.
